Registration
Nickname - This is the name that will be seen by all other Phlirtz.com users on your profile, in messages and on the forums. It must be unique to all other users.
Email Address - This must be a valid address as you will need to receive an email from Phlirtz.com to validate your account and complete the registration process. Your email address will never be visible to any other Phlirtz.com users except site administrators.
Password - This must be 6 characters minimum.
Describe Yourself - This is your opportunity to let everyone know what you are like, what you like doing, and anything else you want to say about yourself. We realise this isn't always easy to think up on the spot, and that you may want time to elaborate, so this can also be entered at a later date in your profile.
Gender - This will be displayed on your profile, and will be used in searches.
Looking For - This is used to determine your default selection for the Phlirtability section. Do not worry too much when setting this though, as you can change it on the Phlirtability page if necessary.
Date of Birth - This will not be given out to any other members, however we will use it to calculate your age and show that on your profile.
Postcode - This will only ever be used to calculate your distance from other members, and will not be visible to them. You can enter either a full (e.g. SW1A 2AA) or partial (e.g. SW1A) UK postcode. You will not be able to complete registration if the postcode (full or partial) is not valid.
Searching
There are 3 sections on the search page.
Basic Search - This can be used without registering or logging in. It does a basic search on all registered members using only gender and age as criteria.
Member Search - If you have registered a profile and logged in you can use the member search. This allows you to add two more criteria to you search. You can search for members within a certain distance to your location. You can also search for members with a minimum Phlirtability rating.
Subscriber Search - Once you are a paid up subscriber you gain access to our keyword search. This allows you create a more specific search to find members who have certain films, books etc in their favourites, or have mentioned certain keywords in their profile description. You can also use this search to find members by their nickname.Search Results - Once the search is submitted the site will present a list of profiles that match your search criteria. Their nickname, location (and distance if you are logged in), gender and age will be displayed. If you are logged in you may also click on each result to view their profile.
Profiles
When viewing someone elses profile, you have a number of options available to you.
- You may rate each profile you view.
This is separate to phlirtability rating and is just a way for you to keep a personal track of the profiles you have viewed and what you thought of them.
- You can send them an Instaphlirt (if you are a subscriber).
Instaphlirtz are a way for you to express an interest in someone without having to think of something to say to them straight away in a message. They will receive the Instaphlirt and know that you like the look of their profile. This may encourage them to send an Instaphlirt back, or even to send you a message. When an Instaphlirt is received you can see the nickname of the person who has sent it, and by clicking on this name you can link to their profile. Instaphlirtz sent and received are recorded on your recent activity page.
- You can send them a message.
Clicking on the Send Message button will take you to your messages page, where you can compose an email style message to send to another member. All messages must have the subject line filled in.
- You can block this member.
Clicking on the Block button will prevent the member from sending you any Instaphlirtz or messages. If you then decide to unblock this member, you will receive any Instaphlirtz or messages they have sent you since they were blocked.
- You can view their image gallery (if you are a subscriber).
If the member has uploaded any photos you can view these by clicking on the Image Gallery link.

Account Settings
Subscribed Until - This is the date up to which you have currently paid. Will only show up if you have full subscriber status.
Auto-renew membership? - This will be set to auto renew until you inform us that you wish to cancel your subcription. Will only show up if you have full subscriber status.
Nickname - The nickname you chose at registration.
Email Address - Your verified email address.
Password - You can change your password here if you wish.
Gender - Your gender at the time of registration.
Looking For - This is used to determine your default selection for the Phlirtability section. Do not worry too much when setting this though, as you can change it on the Phlirtability page if necessary.
Date of Birth - Your date of birth as given at registration.
Location - Your town, and postcode.
Phlirtability options - Here you can set whether you would like to opt in to our fun Phlirtability section. You can also set whether you would like your current Phlirtability rating to be shown on your profile or not.
Detailed Profile
Describe Yourself - This is your opportunity to let everyone know what you are like, what you like doing, and anything else you want to say about yourself. Full subscribers will be able to search on keywords within this section.
What are you looking for? - Here you can describe the kind of person and relationship you are looking to find on Phlirtz.com.
Your Lifestyle - A section of drop down lists to help describe the kind of lifestyle you lead.
Your Appearance - A section of drop down lists to describe your physical attributes.
Entertainment - A section of checkboxes to specify what you like to do for entertainment.
Favourites - A free text section for you to list a number of your favourite films, books and other aspects of popular culture. Full subscribers will be able to search on these lists to enable people to find others with similar tastes and maybe to provide a talking point to initiate a conversation.
Photographs
Here you can upload up to 5 photographs to your image gallery.
Your primary image will be the image used as a thumbnail in search results and in Phlirtability if you have decided to opt in to that. Your current primary image is signified by an orange border. It can be changed by pressing the Make primary image button next to one of your other images. This will also reset your Phlirtability score.
Each image uploaded must be a valid .jpg image of 1024kb or less. You can also add a caption to each photo you upload. Any obscene or offensive images and/or captions will be removed.
Preview Profile
This is a preview of your profile as seen by other users. It shows your nickname, location and distance from the user viewing the profile (if in the UK), your gender and age.
Following this are the sections that you filled in on your detailed profile page.
Messages
Here you can view any messages you have sent and, provided you have subscribed, any messages you have received.
Messages are displayed in order of date received or sent. To read the message you must click on subject of the message you wish to view. If you wish to see the profile of the person who sent or received the message you can do this by clicking on their nickname in the To/From column.
Messages can be deleted by checking the box beside the message and clicking the Delete selected button.
While viewing a message, you have the option of replying to and/or deleting that message.
Buddy List
You are able to add any member to your buddy list by viewing their profile and clicking on the Add Buddy button. You can then easily access your buddies profiles by visiting this buddy list page. The members will NOT know that you have added them to your buddy list, nor will they know if you remove them later.
Blocked List
You are able to block any member from sending you messages and instaphlirtz. You can use this section to view all the members you currently have on your blocked list. You can also use this page to remove any of the listed members from your blocked list. Unblocking a member will allow you to receive any messages and instaphlirtz that were sent by that member since you put them on your blocked list.
Recent Activity
This section is available to subscribers only. It contains useful information on your activity with other Phlirtz.com members.
- It tells you how many times your profile has been viewed.
- It tells you how many other profiles you have viewed.
- It has a summary table of other members you have had some kind of contact with, showing the number of messages and instaphlirtz sent and received between you and each member.
- It has a list of the latest instaphlirtz and messages that have been sent and received by you, and the date they were sent or received.
Forums
The forums on Phlirtz.com are split in to 2 sections. All members can view and use the moderated forums, which include a FAQ and a Feedback forum. Subscribers gain access to a whole lot of other forums where they can chat and discuss a wide ranging number of topics with other members.
To use the forums simply navigate to the forum you are interested in by clicking the name. You can then see the list of topics in that forum. You have the choice of using the Add Topic button to create a whole new thread, or click on an existing topic and use the Add Reply button to post a message of your own.
By clicking on a members name in a forum topic, you are given the option of viewing their profile, sending that member a message or finding all the posts they have made on the forums that you have access to.
Search
You can use the forum search facility to find posts matching your search criteria. In the basic search, you can enter keywords and the search will return all posts containing any of those keywords, in all of the forums.
In the advanced search, you can refine your search by using a combination of keywords, nicknames and other search options whilest also choosing the forums in which you want to search.
Member list
This is a list of all the members of Phlirtz.com. You can sort the list either alphabetically or by number of posts. You can also click on the Send Message button by their name to send them a private message.
Subscriptions
Forum subscriptions are made by clicking Subscribe to forum at the top of the forum in question. Topic subscriptions are made by clicking Topic Options then Subscribe to topic at the top of the topic in question. Once subscribed you will receive a notification email whenever another member posts on that forum or topic.
Phlirtability
The Phllirtability section is a bit of fun for our members to take part in if they choose to. By opting in from your profile page you can add one of your uploaded photos to the Phlirtability section. Anyone can browse this part of the site and rate photos one after another. If the user is not logged in then only the thumbnail is shown, the full size image is displayed once logged in. You can also choose to display your own rating on your profile if you wish, for others to view and search on.
User Types
There are currently 2 types of user on Phlirtz.com
Non-registered Users (Free!)
- Can do a basic search on gender and age, and browse the results but cannot view profiles.
- Can read the non subscriber forums, but cannot post on them.
- Can rate images in Phlirtability but cannot add their own image.
- Can take part in some of the fun stuff pages.
Subscribers (Currently free!)
- Can do a search on gender, age, distance, Phlirtability, and keywords from members profiles.
- Can fill out a detailed profile, and upload up to five photographs.
- Can send and receive messages from other members.
- Can send instaphlirtz to other members.
- Can block other members.
- Can view all recent activity with other members.
- Can read and post on all forums.
- Can rate images in Phlirtability and opt in.
- Can take part in all of the fun stuff pages.
Phlirtz Sessions
Once logged in to Phlirtz you will remain logged in while using the site. After 30 minutes of inactivity you will be automatically logged out of Phlirtz. This means that if you are spending a long time on one page, for example while writing your profile, it is a good idea to save your work periodically so that the system doesn't log you out and cause you to lose work.
Cancelling Accounts
To remove your profile from Phlirtz, there is now a remove profile button at the bottom of your account settings on the your profile page.
